Wheel Throwing Taster Classes

2hr Pottery Wheel Throwing Taster (16yrs+only) £55pp
Time/Day: 10am-12pm Saturday or Sunday 12-2pm
This course will guide you through the foundations of wheel throwing and provide you with the skills to develop your practice.
There will be a max 8 students in the class with your own dedicated wheel so lots of 1:1 tuition.
No experience required!
This is perfect for absolute beginners who would like to try the wheel before committing to a full course.
By the end of the course you will walk away with pieces which you have learnt to throw on the wheel yourself!
This include all tuition, clay, tools, materials & refreshments inc biscuits 😉
Included in the workshop:
Studio setup & safety briefing
Introduction to clay, tools, & equipment
Basic throwing techniques
Engaging practical on the pottery wheel
15-20 minutes dedicated to cleaning up at the end.
Keep 2 of your favourite pieces and our team will look after the firing/ glazing for you!
At the end of the session you can take home up to 2 finished pieces which will be ready for collection within 5-6 weeks

Wheel and wine- a cosy 2hr Pottery Wheel session (for those who want to recreate Ghost) £60pp
Cosy up at The Mud House, and dive into some clay while sipping on some lovely wines! Non alcoholic options will also be available. 18+yrs only

Hand Building Taster Classes

£25pp Self-Led Sunday Clay Club: Hand building only: First Sunday of every month 12-4pm- Perfect for ages 7 and up (under 16 must be accompanied by an adult), enjoy a relaxed 3-hour session to pinch pots while enjoying coffee
Perfect for all skill levels, you can drop in anytime from 1-4pm to work on your projects at your own pace. It’s time to put down your phones and get into some mud.
Unlimited Coffee & tea with some baked goods to purchase. We provide the clay, tools, and a supportive environment to inspire your creativity. We glaze your pots in a transparent glaze (some colour slips are available) No instruction—just bring your ideas and enjoy a hands-on day of making. We encourage no use of devices during the session so you can make the most of your time)
£9 firing fee weighed at end of session-if you want to keep your pot!
Suitable for ages 7 and above. (Adults must accompany under 16's)

Get creative with slab building techniques and craft your very own ceramic vase! No experience needed - we’ll guide you through shaping, joining, and adding personal touches to make it truly yours.
We will be focusing on abstract and minimal forms created from slabs & exploration of texture.
And the best part? Wine’s on us! Relax, sip, and get hands-on as you build your beautiful vase. A perfect way to spend an early evening with friends (or treat yourself!).
