Looking for a unique way to celebrate with friends? At The Mud House, we offer a fun and creative experience for your hen or stag do—whether at our studios or on-location.
Kick off your weekend in Brighton by getting hands-on with pottery while enjoying a social atmosphere with your mates.
Conveniently located right next to Preston Park station, it’s easy to head into Brighton city center afterward to continue the festivities. Plus, we’ve got a great list of local recommendations for dining and drinking to keep the celebrations going!

- Group arrives and gets settled in, everyone is welcome to use our kitchen make and cuppa/ have a biscuit/ you’re also welcome to bring some of your own drinks & food!
- 5mins: our tutor will welcome everyone to the space, introduce the life cycle of clay, explain the firing process and health & safety information
- 15mins: Tutor will demonstrate pinch, coiling and slab techniques- demo can be focused on a certain type of form depending on your choice. For example mug making, plant pot, botanical press plates etc. or if on the wheel - a pottery wheel demo!
- 2hrs: Now it's the group's turn to make & add colour slip at the end of the session for hand building
- 10mins: clean up time & having a look around at all the masterpieces

Our classes and workshops cater to everyone, from complete beginners to those looking to refine their skills. Don’t worry if you’ve never worked with clay or feel like you lack creativity—our welcoming environment and expert guidance will help you unleash your artistic potential.

To book your hen or stag do workshop, please fill out the form on this page. We’ll get in touch within 48 hours to confirm your chosen date and time.
After your booking is confirmed, we will send you an invoice along with a calendar invitation. We recommend booking at least 3 weeks in advance, but we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Fridays: 10am, 2pm or 6pm
Saturday & Sunday: 10am, 2pm or 6pm

Full payment for the event is required at least one month in advance to ensure timely ordering of materials.
The total payment includes a 20% non-refundable deposit.
You may adjust the number of participants up to 5 working days before the event.
In the event of a cancellation, only 50% of the total fee will be refunded if cancellation occurs less than 5 days before the event.
Please note that no refunds will be issued for participants who do not attend on the day of the event.
If, for any reason, we are unable to facilitate the workshop, you will receive a full refund.
