Kirunuki Carving & Coffee Workshop @ Spro Coffee
Workshop Description
Discover the art of kirunuki in our 2-hour hands-on workshop led by ceramicist Mitsuka Shimazu. In collaboration with the welcoming atmosphere of Spro Coffee in Hove, we're bringing together clay, craft, and coffee for a truly special making experience.
Kirunuki is a beautiful Japanese ceramic carving technique that transforms simple clay forms into intricate, expressive pieces through careful cutting and revealing. Whether you're completely new to ceramics or already have some experience, this session offers a creative introduction to this mindful craft in a relaxed and inspiring setting.
You'll work with 2 blocks of clay, guided throughout the process as you carve your own unique design. All materials, firing to stoneware temperatures, and float glaze finishing are included.
