Weekend Intensive Cut & Paste: Composite Throwing Forms with Tim Fluck
Workshop Description:
We are delighted to welcome ceramic artist Tim Fluck to The Mud House for a two-part intensive workshop exploring composite throwing forms and experimental wheel techniques.
This weekend course offers a deeper dive into throwing, focusing on how individual wheel-thrown elements can be cut, reworked, and reassembled to create dynamic, sculptural ceramic forms. Tim’s approach challenges traditional methods of throwing, encouraging a more playful and architectural way of building vessels.
Taking place over two Sundays, this intensive is designed for makers looking to push their wheel throwing practice further and explore new structural possibilities in clay.
What to Expect:
Over the two sessions, you will:
Throw multiple components on the wheel
Learn cut-and-paste construction techniques
Explore balance, structure and composition in ceramic form
Reassemble thrown elements into finished sculptural vessels
Develop a more experimental approach to wheel throwing
Tim will guide you through his process step-by-step, encouraging experimentation while supporting technical development throughout.
This is a focused, hands-on workshop with plenty of making time and individual feedback.
