Nerikomi & Agateware Workshop (Pattern & Colour in Clay)
Workshop Description
Workshop Description
Join us at The Mud House for a two-day weekend workshop exploring pattern and colour in clay, led by our founder Ros.
This workshop focuses on agateware and marbled clay techniques, where you’ll learn how to combine and layer coloured clays to create beautiful patterns that run all the way through your pieces. From soft, flowing marbling to more structured, layered designs, each piece you make will be completely unique.
We’ll also take inspiration from traditional Nerikomi methods, using simple block and cane techniques to build pattern within the clay itself, all in a relaxed, beginner-friendly environment (handbuilding experience helpful).
On day two, you’ll take your pieces further: trimming and refining your work from day one, then using your patterned clay to slab-build a mug or small vase.
Perfect for those new to ceramics, or anyone looking to move beyond a taster and explore more creative possibilities with clay. No experience required, however some hand-building/slab experience would be beneficial.
