Guided Pottery (5 Weeks)

Take your pottery further with our 5-week Guided Pottery course! Open to both wheel throwing and hand-building, this course gives you the freedom to work on your own personal project with expert tutor support along the way. Perfect for those who've completed a course with us and want to keep developing their practice before taking the leap into independent membership (16 yrs+ only).


Workshop Description

With a class limited to just 10 participants, you'll have plenty of space, time, and one-to-one support to develop your work at your own pace.

Included in the course are all the materials, tools, clay, and refreshments (including biscuits!).

Course Highlights:

  • Meet the group, get familiar with the studio, and discuss your personal project ideas

  • Freedom to work on your own chosen project across both wheel throwing and hand-building

  • Tutor-led demos and guidance tailored to the needs of the group and your individual project

  • Finish your pieces with glazing in the final session

  • Each 2.5hr session includes 15–20 minutes of clean-up (essential for a safe and healthy studio!)

  • If you finish earlier than expected you're welcome to continue working and using the space

  • Any pots that are kept will be charged at a rate of £10 per kilo of work (weighed at pick up)

Your completed pieces will be ready for collection within 5-6 weeks, depending on the weather!

Course Outline

5 Week Course Outline

Week 1: Introduction
Meet your group, settle into the studio, and go through health & safety. Share your project ideas and get guidance on the best approach for your make.

Weeks 2–4: Project Work
Work on your own project at your own pace with tutor support, demos, and guidance tailored to what you're making.

Week 5: Glazing & Finishing
Complete your pieces with a glazing session and finishing touches.

Sessions are 2.5 hours each (some may be shorter depending on progress, but you’re welcome to continue using the space if this occurs. We always finish with at least 20 minutes for cleaning pottery wheels).

Cost

Evening & Weekend Courses: £210 per person for 5 sessions (inc VAT)

Any pots that are kept & fired will be charged at a rate of 10£ per kilo of work (weighed at pick up)
