Queer & Trans+ Pinch Potting with El

Join our studio manager El (they/them) for a relaxed, welcoming pinch potting workshop created specifically for self-identifying LGBTQIA+ adults of all abilities.

Rooted in El’s personal practice, this session draws on the transitory and responsive nature of clay as a way to explore themes of gender, transition, and sense of self. Clay is a material that records touch, pressure, and change; it can be shaped, held, collapsed, repaired, and reimagined. In El’s work, this mutability becomes a powerful metaphor for lived experiences of queerness and transness - identities that are not fixed, but evolving, self-defined, and deeply embodied.

Through the simple practice of pinch potting, participants are invited to slow down and engage mindfully with clay, focusing on intuition rather than perfection. The session is held in a calm, supportive space that centres care and community, where everyone is free to work at their own pace and interpret the process in the ways that feel meaningful to them.

This is a pay-what-you-feel session, with a recommended donation of £10 to cover the cost of firing. Payment will be taken at the end of the session via the studio card machine. Every contribution helps us keep the workshop sustainable and accessible for participants.
